Former Lagos Boss, Tinubu -- Action Congress of Nigeria will win Ogun, Oyo in 2011

Former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, on Monday said that the Action Congress of Nigeria would “clean up” Ogun and Oyo states in the general elections of 2011.

Tinubu, who spoke to journalists at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, said the ACN was already strategising towards achieving the goal.

“We are cleaning up Ogun and Oyo in 2011. This is the time our party is strategising to enlarge its scope. Akala (Governor Adebayo Alao Akala) does not understand the politics of Oyo State,” he said.

Tinubu, who was in company with the National Chairman of the ACN, Chief Bisi Akande; former Governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Lam Adesina,; former Governor of Ogun State, Olusegun Osoba; and other party stalwarts, said that Oyo had not experienced significant development since Peoples Democratic Party took over in the state.

He said, “The infrastructure, the environment and the serenity around Ibadan those days was one of the best in our country.

“Ever since the Akala type of politics came in, the entire Oyo State has been regressing, that is the truth. They have brought wanton destruction to the spirit of our people, they have never, never had a focus. If you look at since 1999, the foundation laid by Lam Adesina, it was a progressive foundation.”
